pavement Research Engineer

Position Summary

The Pavement Research Engineer will be responsible for conducting research related to bituminous mixtures and flexible pavement design at the Heritage Research Group. This is a newly created role to conduct and manage research including performance testing of bituminous paving mixtures and product development.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

• Manage pavement and mixture related research initiatives within the Heritage ResearchGroup
• Maintain and calibrate performance testing
• Remain up to date on bituminous performance testing
• Implement new testing capabilities and test
• Generate internal and external technical
• Dataanalysis
• Conduct and innovate bituminous specimen fabrication for performance
• Provide technical support to customers and agencies on research and new product development.
• Develop capability to deliver technical presentations to internal and external stakeholders on various topics and ongoing
• Represent the Heritage Research Group in various technical associations and committees.

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Civil Engineeringpreferred required. PhD in civil engineering preferred.
• EIT recommended with goal of attaining professional engineer (PE) license within the next five years
• Experience in performance testing of bituminous paving
• Knowledge of bituminous mixtures and pavementdesign
• Excellent organization and project management
• Mechanically inclined and software literate to troubleshoot and maintain testing
• High degree of both emotional and intellectual
• Independent, innovative, confident thinker possessing high comfort level with goal-oriented tasks.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication
• Excellent engagement skills and the ability to gain trust and respect of stakeholders through strong relationship skills and commitment to continuous
