Yard Technician

The Yard Technician will pick up and deliver parts to various vendors, also work in the construction yard organizing, cleaning, and repairing various materials.

Essential Functions:

• Parts runner
  • Pickup or deliver parts from various vendors
• Yard Help
  • Unload trailers
  • Organize materials
  • Repair materials brought in for jobsites
• Promotes and maintains safe work environment.
  • Exhibits safe work behaviors; evaluates work area for hazards; eliminates or controls hazards
  • Wears all prescribed PPE
  • Participates in daily safety huddles and safety training; follows safe work plans
  • Reads and understands hazard signs, training materials, work plans, instruction manuals

Required Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid drivers license

Work Environment The work environment described here is representative of those that experienced by an employee performing the essential functions of this job.

• Some exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at concrete plants, including heights, moving vehicles, moving equipment, live wires, exposed wires
• Outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, precipitation, heat, humidity, dust, concrete, dirt
• Indoor office conditions that include regular exposure to office equipment, such as computers, copiers, mail machines, telephones

Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Lifts, pushes, pulls, pours or carries heavy objects, loads of material, tools and repair parts
• Walks and stands for long periods of time
• Bends, stoops, squats, reaches to move materials and perform repairs
• Ability to work between 8-10 hours per day

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Hours are normally Monday through Friday, during business operating hours. During peak construction season, extended, evening, overnight, shift and weekend hours may be required.
