Position Summary:

 

Reporting to the CFO, the Vice President of IT, Shared Services, will work with Business Unit and operational leadership teams in establishing the strategy and execution of the IT function for THG, including developing long term IT programs necessary for aligning BU and operational requirements with technology and services provided and maintained by ITSS. With individual Business Units responsible for critical Software Solutions supporting their operations, the VP of IT is responsible for identifying the information technology infrastructure that enables these software solutions. This role will lead and mentor an effective IT organization that ensures maximum uptime and stability in the company's computer systems and networks. The incumbent will support sustainable and profitable growth by maximizing economy of scales across the organization. This position is a member of the Enterprise Risk Management team. As champion of IT and IT security, the VP of IT will be a technical thought leader that will edify and partner with key stakeholders to understand system gaps, risks, and possibilities.  The VP of IT will provide technical leadership, will contribute significant input into establishing and supporting strategy across the enterprise, and will work in close partnership with the business and senior leadership to identify and implement leading technology practices.  The VP of IT will support the talent and career development of IT team members and build the bench strength of the ITSS organization.

 

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

 

  • Establish IT strategy plans for group-wide enterprise architecture, technology, and IT security solutions aligned with executive and operational leadership.
  • Establish technological and infrastructure solutions including servers, databases and networking environment supporting BU development and application teams.
  • Establish solutions that support effective communications across user community enabling an effective remote work force.
  • Lead and direct a strong IT team that proactively maintains and supports the ITSS strategy and execution.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor the IT organization including contract resources; identify and support peer technical leads in other areas.
  • Create collaborative relationships with executive leadership to understand both near-term and long-term strategies requiring ITSS involvement, implementation, and support.
  • Build relationships with key leaders and stakeholders across groups enabling comprehensive understanding of their requirements to solve technical problems and drive technology innovation.
  • Partner with business leadership in leading the IT system integration strategy and execution of business acquisitions.
  • Identify and establish solutions that take advantage of group-wide economy of scale.
  • Serve as an expert resource providing leadership and assistance to BU functional teams.
  • Maintain knowledge of evolving best practices as they relate to all facets of IT.
  • Responsible for managing department budgets and project costs as applicable.
  • Establish secure IT environment that protects corporate data and affords proper access without limiting operation's critical solutions.
  • Implement and enforce IT security best practices including, but not limited to, penetration testing, intruder prevention and detection, data loss prevention, and employee security awareness training and testing.

Essential Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent.
  • Master's degree in IT, Finance, Accounting or similar.
  • Minimum of 10 years in IT leadership role.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a technology security role, supporting network and data integrity.
  • CISSP, CISA, or CCSP Certification expected.
  • Strong technical background with network security design, systems engineering and management of data integrity.
  • Experience with principles including access/control, authorization, Identification and authentication, public key infrastructure, network, and enterprise security architecture.
  • Advanced documentation, prioritization and change management skills
  • Ability to handle proprietary and sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop an IT organization
