Trucking Compliance Safety Lead

Who We Are:

Asphalt Materials Inc. (AMI) is looking for an eager, technically savvy individual to join our family! AMI is a division of The Heritage Group, locally owned and privately held for 90 years. HC&M companies provide expertise in asphalt products, aggregate supply, and road and bridge construction services, primarily in the Midwest, West Coast, and China. You can find HC&M on the Northwest side of Indianapolis right off 465 and West 86th Street.

What You'll Do:

• • Compliance support for various trucking companies and road construction crews.
  • Create/Build safety guidelines, safety procedures, safety procedure to enhance safety culture.
  • Implement/Enforce company safety guidelines, safety programs, and safety procedures.
  • Lead onsite toolbox talks for construction crews.  
  • Create Job Hazard Analysis
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures for routine tasks.

• Incident Root Case Analysis

• Conduct Pre-Job Safety Inspections

• Conduct OSHA and DOT onsite safety training for truck drivers and road construction crews.

• Audit equipment, documentation, construction and application job sites.

What You'll Need:

• Strong knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
• Exceptional proficiency in PowerPoint: creating presentations and training material.
• One to three years of relevant experience in OSHA compliance, DOT compliance, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated work experience: building training, conducting training, auditing, and implementing safety programs.

• Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability in building and developing relationships to drive effective collaboration.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey various forms of information to a broad audience.
