Tax Accountant Intern - Summer 2024

Job Summary:

The Tax Accountant Intern will focus primarily on Sate and Local sales/use taxes and Personal Property Taxes. They will work closely with various companies under The Heritage Group umbrella to ensure compliance with the various State and Local jurisdictions. They will also help assist with Federal, State, and Local Income Taxes, Tax Provision Calculations, and various Tax Audits (Income, Sales/Use, or Personal Property Taxes).

Essential Job Function:

1. Assist in Filing Property Tax Returns.
2. Assist in Filing Sales/Use Tax Returns.
3. Tax Provision Calculations.
4. Completing and Filing of Federal, State, and Local Income Tax Returns.
5. Assist with various Tax audits (Sales & Use Tax, Income/Franchise Tax, and Property Tax).
6. Assist Tax/Finance with tax related projects.

Requirements:

• Ability to learn multiple Financial and Billing Systems as well as Sales/Use tax software.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel required. PeopleSoft, Thomson Reuters One Source, and Sage FAS experience a plus.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to research, document findings, and make business decisions.
