Staff Accountant

We currently have an opening for a Staff Accountant at our Griffith office.

Position Summary:

Creates accurate and timely financial records for the organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Process journal and general ledger entries for multiple companies
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financials
  • Help gather and prepare information for external auditors
  • Perform Daily Banking Functions
    • ACH/Wire approval
    • Prepare positive pay files
    • Make deposits when necessary
    • Communications with cash management department
  • Preparation of Quarterly IFTA returns for 3 companies
  • Prepare various compliance/registration/renewal reports
  • Post receipts from the various plants for their cash/credit card sales
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts
  • Track and handle petty cash disbursements
  • Various other projects for management as requested/required

Required Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or related field), or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3 years of demonstrated work experience in an accounting role.
  • Construction experience preferred.
