Specialty Products Engineering Intern

A summer intern role is being sought for the Asphalt Materials Specialty Products group. We are looking for a student that is pursuing a four-year degree in an engineering or other science-related program that is a junior or senior in the program.

Job Duties

• Support the hot-applied tack project in the field and the lab
  • Assist in field trials through documentation and sampling
  • Support at the plant for end-product
  • Assist in field coring
  • RPE testing in lab
• Support rapid penetrating emulsion (RPE) efforts in the field
  • Friction, texture, permeability testing
• Support other projects (i.e. J-Band) as needed
  • Aid in experimental work to document and help sample
• Some travel will be required to collect field samples

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Working towards a bachelor's degree in engineering or other science-related program.
• Proficient computer skills
• Willingness to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight for days at a time
• Willingness to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (i.e. - hard hat, safety glasses, respirator, safety work boots, as required)
• Tolerate scents common to fuels and asphalts loading operations, as well as those of construction and maintenance related activities such as welding, painting, and tank cleaning
• Safely lift at least 50 lbs.
