Senior Research Industrial Hygienist, CIH

The Industrial Hygienist for the Heritage Research Group (HRG) should be an experienced team member who uses active problem-solving techniques to lead research projects. These projects will focus on anticipating, recognizing, evaluating control measures, communicating chemical, physical, and ergonomic exposures in the workplace. The Industrial Hygienist aids research studies through technical competencies, project design, and leadership. Their efforts contribute to high quality research through continuous improvement strategies and ensure a safe environment for employees. The ideal candidate should have experience and knowledge of the industry. 

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

• Conduct Asphalt Fume Research 
• Perform Industrial Hygiene sampling for AMI, HRG, and other THG operating companies including analysis, reporting, and communicating results. 
• Perform respirator training and fit testing for HRG employees. 
• Evaluate Fume hoods
• Supervise and mentor seasonal interns
• Be an Active Safety Committee Member 
• Corporate SDS Writer
• Involvement with Asphalt Industry Trade Association 

Required Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry or related field plus MS in Occupational and Environmental Hygiene
• CIH Certification through ABIH (American Board of Industrial Hygienists)
• Member of Professional Societies
• Good Clinical Practice Training
• OSHA 10-hour Training
