Senior Audio Visual Technician

Job Summary:

The Senior AV Technician acts as a technical resource for the operation, set up and troubleshooting of audio and video equipment (AV) at The Center. This position, reporting to the Service Desk Manager, will assist users in meeting rooms with connectivity and presentation needs and well as the continued maintenance of the various AV equipment. The Senior AV Technician will also provide guidance in the scoping, purchase, and installation of new AV hardware within The Heritage Group companies and affiliates. The Senior AV Technician works closely and in partnership with the JR AV technician to ensure all meeting support needs are being met. The Senior AV Technician will also work closely with The Center staff to plan, prioritize meeting and events held at The Center.

This Senior AV Technician may also provide meeting support for Senior and Executive level leadership. The Senior AV Technician will report any higher-level issues to the ITSS Service Desk team for further troubleshooting and assistance as needed.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Works with The Center Staff to determine meeting support needs.
  • Partners with the Jr technicians to ensure all meeting support needs are being met at The Center.
  • Provides guidance in the purchase and installation of new AV hardware/software.
  • Provides on-site meeting support for Senior and Executive level leadership.
  • Provide professional, courteous technical support service to all customers with an emphasis on client services.
  • Tier 1 level IT support including basic troubleshooting of hardware/software issues, account issues.
  • Confirms check of all rooms and designated equipment is performed by direct reports.
  • Troubleshooting of hardware issues such as connectivity and display issues.
  • Responsible for following protocols for A/V products and services
  • Responsible for following ITSS escalation protocols.
  • Notifies the ITSS Service Desk of IT related hardware and software issues.
  • Setup and operation of AV equipment.
  • Onsite and virtual meeting support. Would like to include different levels of events- I.e. board meetings to events with 100+ attendees so they understand the scope of support.
  • Monitoring of AV equipment during presentations.
  • Performs routine maintenance.
  • Setup and tear-down of meeting space equipment as needed.
  • Flexible hours to align with key meetings that require support.

Relevant Skills:

  • Knowledge of Extron/Crestron based room management equipment.
  • Experience with and knowledge of web conferencing platforms including MS Teams, Zoom and BlueJeans.
  • Experience providing support for Senior Leadership and C-Suite personnel
  • Knowledge of streaming, recording, and basic editing skills preferred.
  • Knowledge of audio mixer board a plus.
  • Limited ability to troubleshoot PC/Mac/mobile device related issues
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Products and services
  • Knowledge of Windows 10.
  • Knowledge and familiarity of ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.
  • Flexible hours to align with key meetings that require support.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to anticipate the AV & technology needs of the business units and key stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree or relevant work experience.
  • 1 to 3+ years of experience in AV support
  • Ability to work flexible hours to provide support for events outside of standard business hours.
  • Ability to travel to local sites as needed to ensure functionality of equipment.
  • Strong working knowledge of common AV equipment, PC's, Mac and mobile devices
  • Basic familiarity with technical infrastructure components, terminology and technology trends
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships, and able to work effectively across many levels of organizations.

Travel: less than 20%

*This position is on-site at our Indianapolis, IN site. Qualified candidates must currently reside or be willing to relocate to the Indianapolis area.*
