Seasonal Truck Driver

Job Summary

The Seasonal Truck Driver reports to the Dispatcher or Logistics Manager to receive daily instructions. The Seasonal Truck Driver can expect to fill any Truck Drivers position (Support Truck, Tanker Truck, box truck or any truck for which they are qualified). They may also be assigned to any and all other duties that would support the crew and that he or she may be qualified to perform.

Job Functions

  • Transport and drive equipment to and from job sites in a safe and timely manner
  • Assist, load and supervise loading of truck in order to ensure proper order and weight distribution, assure safety of the cargo, equipment, and limit danger to people
  • Maintain complete and accurate records such as, daily logs, fuel logs, fuel receipts, delivery documentation
  • Obtain shipping documents and necessary signatures and return said documents to appropriate department as required
  • Inspect, monitor all gauges and equipment, provide and document proper routine maintenance of trucks/equipment in accordance with established policies; reporting concerns or problems immediately
  • Operate trucks and equipment in accordance with all DOT regulations and observe all safety regulations established by AMI and the DOT for the safe operation of commercial vehicles
  • Maintain assigned vehicles and/or equipment to a high standard of cleanliness
  • Assist in training others to operate assigned trucks/equipment
  • Other duties as assigned by the Foreman and/or Supervisor

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must demonstrate strong teamwork skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written communication) with management, staff and outside entities as well as follow verbal and written instructions in English
  • Ability to read, follow and interpret safety documents, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Safety is a priority for AMI, applicant must be safety minded.

Experience, Education and Other Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work overtime, when needed
  • Must possess a Class A CDL
  • Must have a tanker and hazmat endorsement.
  • Per Wisconsin DOT and CDL rules and guidelines you must be 21+ and hold a valid Fed Med Card
  • Must have history of safe driving record
  • Must pass a criminal background check, obtain TWIC card, routine physical and drug screen
