Quality Control Lead

The Quality Control Lead will be responsible for the quality control function for their aggregate plants and product. The position will partner with field leadership and operations by acting as the quality champion and standard keeper for the business. The role will ensure compliance with all relevant quality control programs. The Lead will implement and manage quality best practices, initiate new quality programs, and appraise quality performance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and oversee daily quality operations across assigned aggregate locations in partnership with plant operations.
• Create quality standardization across multiple locations to include development, communication and management of Key Performance Indicators.
• Report data in a timely manner to appropriate state agencies. Act as primary point of contact for state and local agencies in your working area.
• Monitor aggregates testing, product quality and consistency.
• Partner with plant operations on any quality issues to make adjustments as necessary.
• Work directly with plant management of operations to improve overall quality production related processes with the goal of improving operating costs.
• Investigate and report complaints pertaining to quality, quantity or performance.
• Maintain a database of quality related claims; their cost and root cause and manage the resolution of claims of significant cost and brand risk.
• Operate as a backup QC Tech and Assist locations QC Techs with:

1. Gather quality samples from large aggregate stock piles
2. Perform all INDOT required and aggregate quality testing while maintaining all required paperwork and computer files
3. Must be current on all INDOT certifications
4. Maintain proper order and cleanliness in the laboratory, stairs, and catwalks

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or its equivalent
• Current INDOT Certification
• Experience with INDOT and CAPP
• MSHA Trained
• Experience with aggregate lab testing
• Strong knowledge of aggregate mining operations, with specific emphasis on quality processes including testing and analysis.
• A demonstrated ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and to work in a team environment.
• Knowledge of MSHA and appropriate state rules and regulations.
• Excellent organization and project management skills.
• High degree of both emotional and intellectual intelligence.
• Independent, confident thinker with a high comfort level with ambiguity.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent engagement skills and the ability to gain trust and respect of stakeholders through a can-do attitude, integrity, and consistent high-standard delivery.

• Ability to travel seventy-five percent.

Physical Requirements:

• Must have the ability to continuously stand or walk on level or uneven ground.
• Must have the ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairways and incline catwalks.
• Must have the ability to bend, crouch and/or kneel at waist or knees.
• Must have the ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50lbs.
• Ability to work outside majority of the time and withstand extreme weather conditions. Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weather.

While this position is based out of Delphi, you will support all of our Northern locations- Lowell, Francesville, Monon, Swisher, and Delphi. Must be flexible to travel.
