Quality Control Field Technician

The Quality Control Field Technician will collect samples and data to support the Engineering Team in development of mine plans and long-term development. The individual will operate various geotechnical equipment, such as but not limited to, rotary drill, Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERI), drones. The individual will be expected to operate equipment, compile data, and report information.

Duties:

• Operate rotary drill
• Collect needed samples and supply field log from same
• Operate ERI and process/forward data to Engineering Team
• Operate drone to gathering information for drilling and blasting. Mine planning, inventory control and other.
• Maintain equipment in proper working condition and high level of cleanliness.
• Back up for quality control technicians throughout Indiana.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must live in or near West Lafayette/Delphi, IN area
• High school diploma or its equivalent
• Current INDOT Certification preferred
• Able to obtain CDL Required
• Able to obtain FAA pilots license (Drone) required
• MSHA trained preferred
• Mathematical and computer skills required
• Available to work evenings and weekends when needed
• Some overnight travel may be needed
• Positive attitude and ability to be a team player.
• The functions and abilities necessary to successfully perform in this position, but may not be limited to, may include:
  • Standing, Walking, Sitting, Carrying/lifting up to 100 lbs., Pushing/Pulling, Climbing, Stooping/Bending, Reaching, and above shoulder level, Operate motor vehicle, Manual Dexterity

Worksite conditions: Weather exposure, Temperature extremes, Noise, Odors, Dust or mist, Fumes, or vapors, limited access.
