Plant Operator - Night Shift
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Night Shift Plant Operator to join our team. As a Night Shift Plant Operator, you will work as part of a team to ensure the overall operation of the terminal including basic functions such as receipt and shipment of products, manufacturing of products, inspection and recordkeeping requirements, and the maintenance of the equipment in the facility. You will coordinate with schedulers for the successful delivery and receipt of products (by truck and rail) and production of finished products to meet customer demands.
Safety of our employees is of the highest priority. Employees will be required to participate in multiple facility safety programs and engage in the employee-owned safety culture of the facility.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and ship raw materials
- Manufacturing of asphalt products
- Inspection and recordkeeping
- Managing small projects, including but not limited to product transfers, product production, mechanical troubleshooting, pump maintenance, valve maintenance, testing of system safety devices, periodic inspections of tanks, valves, or piping, and other product quality control or technically oriented tasks.
- Performing duties assigned by the facility manager and lead operator
Relevant Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrate teamwork skills
- Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral communication
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous production/maintenance experience in the refined products terminal or production facilities and/or oil or gas industry (Mechanical/Industrial trade school will be considered work experience) preferred
- Basic mechanical and/or electrical knowledge
- Proficient computer skills
- A valid driver's license
- Willingness to work night shift and varying hours as requested.
- Willingness to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
- Willingness to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (i.e. - hard hat, safety glasses, respirator, safety work boots, as required)
- Negotiate in, on, and around piping at both grade level and above grade level elevations
- Navigate vertical ladders and spiral tank stairs to reach work areas
- Occasionally enter confined spaces through 24" diameter manways
- Tolerate scents common to fuels and asphalts loading operations, as well as those of construction and maintenance related activities such as welding, painting, and tank cleaning
- Safely lift at least 50 lbs.
