Position Title: Parts Runner

Position Summary
Performs a variety of manual and physical labor to assist garage personnel
Essential Functions:
• Delivers and picks up parts
o Drives a forktruck
o Loads and unloads trucks; hoists and hauls materials
• Maintains garage area
o Puts away supplies
o Cleans the garage
• Communicates with co-workers and supervisors
o Advises mechanic of problems or potential problems
o Collaborates with assigned work crews
• Promotes and maintains safe work environment.
o Exhibits safe work behaviors; evaluates work area for hazards; eliminates or controls hazards
o Wears all prescribed PPE
o Participates in daily safety huddles and safety training; follows safe work plans
o Reads and understands hazard signs, training materials, work plans, instruction manuals

Work Environment

The work environment described here is representative of those that experienced by an employee performing the essential functions of this job.
• Continuous exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites, including heights, moving vehicles, stopped traffic
• Outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, precipitation, heat, humidity, dust, asphalt and/or concrete, dirt
• Indoor garage conditions that include regular exposure to noise, including horns, mechanical equipment, heavy equipment, moving mechanical parts, vibration, fumes and airborne particles
Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Lifts, pushes, pulls, pours or carries heavy objects, loads of material
• Walks and stands for long periods of time
• Bends, stoops, squats, reaches to move materials
• Climbs in, out and under equipment; lays or stands under equipment
• Uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue;
• Uses good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination, with the ability to quickly move arms and legs.
• Possess excellent stamina to work between 8-12 hours per day
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, normally 40 hours per week. Days and hours of work can vary, but shifts are normally 8 or more hours. Overtime, weekend and shift work are frequently required.
