Mobile Equipment Manager

The Mobile Equipment Manager will promote and support our field operations on mobile and portable equipment performance, services, and maintenance, with a goal of improving and maintaining fleet health. This role will cover all US Aggregates locations across the state of Indiana.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate in the development of mobile and portable equipment strategy including ownership, rental, operations, and maintenance.
    • Create, update and report on annual, three and five-year, major mobile equipment repair, rebuild, and replacement plans
    • Prepare and report on equipment KPIs and costs monthly
    • Organize and provide supervisory support for major mobile equipment repairs, rebuilds.
    • Plan and communicate preventive maintenance and maintenance scheduling with plant operations, mechanics and/or vendors
    • Provide mobile equipment maintenance and operational technical support to the operations.
    • Provide maintenance and maintenance management training to operations personnel
    • Establish equipment rental rates for set intervals annually
    • Coordinate tire and fuel purchases for mobile equipment
  • Conduct Fleet Health and Performance Reviews
    • Perform Site audits and operational studies in collaboration with the operations team to identify cost reduction and equipment utilization improvement opportunities.
    • Provide monthly reports on fleet health, maintenance efforts, fleet availability and utilization, ensuring all data is received on time.
    • Coordinate and oversee the implementation and use of oil sampling, condition monitoring, telemetry, and other equipment management technologies
  • Perform Root Cause Analyses on major components experiencing premature failure
  • Update preventative and predictive maintenance procedures resulting from RCA as necessary
  • Serve as the primary liaison with local OEM dealer suppliers ensuring dealer alignment
  • Manage OTR fleet vehicles working closely with fleet management company
    • Preventative maintenance, state inspection programs, DOT paperwork
    • Place orders for new vehicles and create trickle down plans.
  • Maintain files of warranties, records, licenses, inspections, service agreements, and contracts for various pieces of equipment.
  • Promote and follow all company/plant/MSHA safety guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of vocational training preferred
  • Five to ten years of experience operating, maintaining and repairing large mobile equipment fleets preferred
  • Knowledge of aggregate mining operations and equipment
  • The ability to partner with appropriate levels within the organization
  • Ability to travel - day travel and overnight, expected to be 40%
  • Strong relationship skills and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Organized with strong attention to detail
  • Experience maintaining positive relationships and operating with a high level of integrity
  • Independent, confident thinker with a high comfort level with ambiguity
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office software
