We currently have an opening for a Logistics and Fleet Manager in our equipment department.

The role provides strategic direction for mobile fleet management and movement for the organization, ensuring that internal and external stakeholder demands are met.

Essential Functions:

• Provides strategic direction for mobile fleet movement, including yellow iron and white fleet
  • Establishes KPI's and meaningful analytics around fleet capacity and utilization
  • Develops best practices for equipment utilization, movement, capacity and sharing
  • Establishes purchasing guidelines, leveraging economies of scale for strong purchasing power
  • Develops and implements annual budget, monitors equipment department costs and revenue
  • Meets deadlines
  • Develops relationships with the Teamsters; has excellent understanding of labor relations and Teamster contracts
• Develops high quality relationships
  • Uses inquiry to understand needs of internal stakeholders
  • Sources and maintains relationships with external stakeholders, including, but not limited to owners, suppliers, equipment dealers, subcontractors
  • Collaborates with local operations leadership to ensure smooth execution and day to day management of fleet
  • Communicates regularly with others by phone, email, text, and in-person
• Monitors, maintains, and drives compliance
  • Understands DOT, FMCSA, and other applicable compliance regulations for drivers and fleet
  • Ensures accurate record keeping
  • Develops and updates policies to maintain compliance and mitigate risk

  • Directly supervises and manages performance of dispatchers
  • Develops staff and ensures appropriate training is conducted
  • Cultivates a climate of high trust
  • Regularly travels throughout the state to area locations and job sites

  • Creates climate of safety by promoting emotional, psychological, physical and mental well-being
  • Wears all prescribed PPE

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Management, Logistics, Supply Chain or other related field, or commensurate work or military experience
• 5 years' experience in a managerial or supervisory position (or equivalent progressive experience in an individual contributor role)
• 5 years' experience working with equipment fleets in heavy civil construction
