Learning Strategy Consultant

Summary

A critical member of the People & Culture Team, the Director of Learning and Development is responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of high impact learning and development programs for the company as well as establishing employee engagement programs and strategies that elevate the employee experience, build high performing teams, and drive our unique culture forward. Equal parts strategy and operations, this position requires the ability to juggle multiple work streams, priorities and programs that impact business results. This position reports to the Vice President of Talent.


Key Responsibilities


Learning:

  • Lead development, scale, maintain, and deliver a best in class learning portfolio that is aligned to the company's values, strategic priorities, and competency framework, ensuring that all aspects of development and delivery are high-impact and meet the needs of a diverse range of learning styles
  • Lead and develop the Learning and Development team, partnering closely with Directors of Talent and Learning Subject Matter Experts in each Operating Company to drive the best learning strategy to support business needs
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and Directors of Talent to conduct learning needs analysis to identify opportunities and drive desired changes and outcomes
  • Evolve and scale learning framework, and develop skills and capabilities to address gaps and align with business growth strategy including management and leadership development for multiple employee audiences
  • Design and deploy a learning sustainability framework, reinforcing knowledge at key intervals to maximize knowledge retention and application
  • Monitor, measure, and evaluate the effectiveness of all learning programs and implement changes as necessary to elevate the level and success of all learning initiatives
  • Partner with the Marketing & Communications team to implement socialization strategies that raise awareness and promote learning and development opportunities across each Operating Company

Talent Management and Development:

  • Partner with Directors of Talent to deploy learning that supports the talent development lifecycle (e.g., onboarding, goal setting, feedback and performance management, career pathing, succession planning, talent reviews) to ensure optimal outcomes that build internal capabilities
  • Partner with Business Partners and Directors of Talent to assess and develop learning approaches to meet specific operating company or functional needs including leadership coaching and external offerings

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience designing and leading L&D programs at scale, preferably in high-growth environments with multiple business units
  • 3+ years managing people
  • Demonstrated understanding of adult learning styles and learning strategy development designed to maximize knowledge retention and application
  • Proven experience with curriculum development and delivery methodologies
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Strong consultative skills and ability to make persuasive recommendations based on business rationale
  • Experience using data to draw conclusions and make meaningful recommendations
  • Demonstration of agile thinking, with the ability to nimbly prioritize initiatives based on evolving needs
  • Ability to work and lead in ambiguity, including effective handling of opportunities that do not always have a process, system, or solution in place
  • Deep knowledge of the learning related offerings available in the market, including relevant learning organizations and service providers and experience evaluating and managing vendor relationships
  • Experience leading the strategy with instructional design methodologies and authoring tools, mature learning management systems and eLearning development systems, tools and resources.
  • Desirable: Experience with LMS implementation and administration, LinkedIn Learning & full Microsoft suite
