Laboratory Support Specialist

The Laboratory Support Specialist provides high quality administrative lab support to effectively manage daily responsibilities for Heritage Research Group within the analytical, environmental, and construction and materials laboratories.

Some Highlighted Responsibilities:

• Shipping and receiving of lab-based packages
• Data entry of received samples into proprietary software
• Help develop and manage sample allocation and storage system
• Assist in chemical inventory control
• Inventory control of laboratory supplies and supply rooms
• Participate with and help oversee quarterly sample disposal
• Work closely with all lab personnel in maintaining data integrity

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or High School diploma with equivalent experience. A chemistry or science-based major or working experience is preferred
• 2-3+ or more years of experience in lab or research-based role preferred or previous inventory management, project coordinator, project management, field service or administrative role within the military.
• Focus on safety
• Comfortable in the safe handling of packaged and containerized hazardous materials
• Ability to read, interpret, and write documents such as Standard Operating Procedures
• Experience building best practices
• Ability to effectively organize and manage inventory
• Above average attention to detail and troubleshooting ability
• Experience with all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
