Instructional Designer

Job Overview:


As an instructional designer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality instructional content for various learning platforms. You will collaborate with subject matter experts, company stakeholders, and the Learning and Development team to analyze training needs, design instructional materials, and assess the effectiveness of training programs.

***This position is for a 3-year or project completion fixed-term basis and is remote with occasional travel to the Indianapolis Office. This will be considered a full-time, benefits-eligible position for that period. Candidates residing in Eastern & Central time zones are strongly preferred***


Responsibilities:


1. Needs Analysis:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify learning objectives and performance gaps.
- Conduct thorough needs assessments to determine the target audience, learning goals, and constraints.


2. Curriculum Design:
- Develop instructional strategies and curriculum outlines to meet specified learning objectives.
- Create detailed design documents outlining the structure and content of instructional materials.


3. Content Development:
- Design and develop engaging and interactive instructional materials, including e-learning modules, videos, simulations, and assessments.
- Ensure content aligns with instructional goals, is visually appealing, and adheres to industry best practices.


4. Collaboration:
- Work closely with subject matter experts, company stakeholders, and the Learning and Development team to gather relevant information and insights.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Marketing/Communications, and other team members to enhance the quality of instructional materials.


5. Technology Integration:
- Stay updated on emerging educational technologies and recommend their integration into instructional design processes.
- Utilize authoring tools, learning management systems (LMS), and other relevant technologies to create and deliver content.


6. Quality Assurance:
- Conduct reviews and quality assurance checks to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of instructional materials.
- Implement feedback from stakeholders and make necessary revisions to improve content.


7. Evaluation and Assessment:
- Develop and implement evaluation strategies to assess the effectiveness of training programs.
- Analyze data and feedback to continuously improve and update instructional materials.


Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in instructional design, education, or a related field.
- 3+ years of proven experience as an instructional designer in a business environment or similar role.
- Proficiency in instructional design methodologies and adult learning theories (ADDIE, Kirkpatrick Model).
- 3+ years of experience with e-learning authoring tools, multimedia software, and learning management systems (Articulate 360, Camtasia, etc)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Workday/Workday LMS experience is a plus.
