IT Server Team Manager

The ITSS Server Team Manager leads the team that is responsible for the server infrastructure for the entire computing environment including hardware procurement and deployment, escalated ServiceDesk tickets, project management of deployment and rehab projects, and assigned server monitoring and management. The role is a member of the IT shared services team that supports a portfolio of privately held companies.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Manages a team of server administrators.
  • Provides Tier III support for existing server virtualization platforms, email services, and Active Directory configurations.
  • Supports on-prem email relay services as well as Exchange Online configurations.
  • Deploys new server/storage hardware as required through acquisition, expansion, or technology refresh.
  • Drives continuous improvement of server availability and performance.
  • Brings new technologies and best practices to enhance server performance and reliability.
  • Creates and updates process documentation as needed. Adheres to change management processes.
  • Manages projects related to deployment of new servers and configurations.
  • Document configuration and monitors all aspects of server performance.
  • Manages and maintains server backup processes and Disaster Recovery design and testing.
  • Supports ServiceDesk in resolving escalated tickets requiring specific technical knowledge. Includes an after-hours, on-call rotation with Server team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Server Administrator.
  • Microsoft Server certifications or equivalent experience.
  • VMWare certifications or equivalent experience.
  • Active Directory design, deployment, and support.
  • Design and deploy Powershell scripts.
  • Administration and management of Azure subscriptions and resources.
  • Comfortable working in a remote location supporting businesses with a decentralized leadership structure.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation.
