IT Project Management Intern

IT Shared Services Project Management Intern

 

Summary:

The Project Management Intern will work closely with managers within IT Shared Services to develop a project management process within ServiceNow, which will include data entry, reporting, data analysis, and general project management.  The intern will help each Manager enter their data in SN-PPM, and thereafter maintain and update this data with each Manager.  They will also report on adherence to target dates, tasks by resource, and deliverables to allow PMs to focus on working on guiding projects towards successful delivery.

 

The responsibilities of the intern are, but not limited to, the following:

  • Learn and work with ServiceNow's PPM Module to:
    • Enter a new portfolio/program/project along with associated data, especially in finalizing the 2021 Portfolio
    • Enter tasks and resource(s) and their allocations for each Project in consultation with Owner-Manager, especially in finalizing the 2021 Portfolio
    • Maintain and update core project-data, especially dates, tasks, resources, allocations, deliverables, etc.  in collaboration with each Manager weekly
    • Report on changes to core project data to PM so these can be discussed with appropriate Manager or Project team
    • Maintain a list of upcoming tasks by resources during specified period
    • Engage with all project resources as assigned to underway-projects to obtain first-hand Task-Completion data
    • Engage with each Manager (and PM) at least weekly to provide report on Missed Task-Completion data for each of their projects and list upcoming and underway tasks for the next period
    • Audit system to ensure appropriate Manager has updated SN-PPM accordingly and report to PM on exceptions
  • Over the course of the internship, the incumbent will also be responsible for the following:
    • Execute Portfolio Audit for all portfolio elements monthly and provide to PM/Manager(s)
    • Review and report on updates as indicated by the Portfolio Audit by each Manager
    • Gather ticket data monthly and try and assign a ticket to each of our operation categories to obtain a monthly correlation of allocations versus actual delivery for each of the operation services executed by ITSS.

 

Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program, studying a business or information technology-related major
  • Must be able to work 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday
  • Must be self-driven and be able to work without direct oversight. Position is remote until company policy stipulates otherwise
  • Experience with ServiceNow is preferred, but not required
