IT Applications Intern

The Heritage Group is looking for an eager student to join our Information Technology team.  This individual will report directly to our Application Manager and work with a team of industry professionals.  The internships will provide the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with existing applications and allow the individual to make their own valuable contributions to new features and improvements while working with a variety of business groups and leaders.

The internship will a variety of responsibilities, including and not limited to the following:

• Work closely with business operations to understand the use cases and requirements before writing any single line of code
• Perform analysis on our existing applications and suggests improvements based on users and business operation needs
• Present findings and recommendations to business operational group and leadership
• Develop new features on existing application that are scalable and extensible with minimal impact on legacy code

Qualifications:

• Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Informatics, Human-Computer Interaction, or Information Architecture
• Exposure to SQL, Incremental Software Development, Prototyping, Use Case Analysis, Requirements Analysis. Preference given to candidates with exposure or experience to one or more of the following: Java, Servlets, JSP, J2EE, CSS, BOOTSTRAP, SASS, JAVASCRIPT, ORACLE, SQL, GIT, cXML, iTEXT, POWER BI
• Strong communication with multiple levels of employees (both written and verbal)
• Critical thinking and problem solving
• Solid presentation skills for ideas, findings, and results
• Commit to 12-week internship
