IS Field Technician II- Griffith, IN

Position Title: IS Field Technician II

Department: IT

FLSA: Non-Exempt


Position Summary:

Responsible for the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the company's information systems.


Essential Functions:

  • Supports users with data, software and applications
    • Maintains knowledge of Company Applications
    • Has knowledge of back up, disaster recovery processes and
    • Ensures integrity of Cyber Security procedures, policies, and best practices
    • Identifies problems within system operations and integration
  • Provides User Support and Training
    • Supports end users in selection, procurement and usage of software and hardware
    • Issues and trains users on mobile devices, laptops and tablets
    • Provides troubleshooting and technical assistance
    • Responds to custom requests from users; travels to job sites/field offices
  • Streamlines and automates processes
    • Works with team to provide new application ideas
    • Works on special projects within the department as assigned
    • Maintains up-to-date knowledge in industry technology
  • Communicates with internal/external customers
    • Answers inquiries via phone, email or in-person in a timely manner
    • Develops effective relationships with employees, peers and managers
    • Provides highest levels of customer service
    • Maintains highest levels of confidentiality and integrity
  • Promotes and maintains safe work environment

    • Wears all prescribed PPE

Work Environment The work environment described here is representative of those that experienced by an employee performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Clerical office environment
  • Indoor lab conditions that include standard office equipment such as computers, photocopier, phone, filing cabinets, fax machines, cubicles
  • Regular exposure to multiple computer terminals, screens, mobile devices, servers
  • Some exposure to noise in server rooms;
  • Exposure to outdoor conditions at job sites including dust, concrete, asphalt, etc.

Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Sits at a desk several hours a day
  • Uses multiple computer screens
  • Performs data entry, alpha and 10-key numeric, on a keyboard
  • Uses copy/fax to scan documents
  • Uses fine motor coordination and manipulation to install hardware and software on devices
  • May lift up to 50 lbs of equipment
  • May work in small, enclosed spaces at times
  • May require occasional work at elevated heights

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, normally 40 hours per week. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, during normal business hours. This position is overtime eligible. At times, this position may require nights and weekends.


Travel Travel to some job site or satellite office visits is expected; normally day time travel with potential for overnights at times.


Required Education and Experience


  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience in a IT position

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Construction Management or related field
  • Related industry certification

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Must adhere to drug free workplace requirements, including random testing requirements
  • If required to drive a company vehicle, must have or be able to obtain valid, state driver's license and meet company driver requirements

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable) Must be authorized to work in the United States, as verified through E-Verify. Some job sites may require additional criminal background testing.
