HR Analyst
Job Summary
The HR Analyst is responsible for identifying and assisting in solving HR-related issues and improving HR processes. An HR Analyst gathers, analyzes, evaluates, and provides feedback on data, reports, processes, systems, etc. to share findings with managers and advise on changes and improvements. The HR Analyst will also participate in the prioritization and implementation of suggested changes.
Process Improvement
- Gathers current-state data on in-scope processes in HRSS and potentially across the companies, including process details (time and volume), systems/technologies, involved roles, service delivery channels, service level agreements, and associated documentation
- Gains a thorough understanding of the current state of work based on the data provided by HRSS and its clients. Utilizes a consultative approach to request data, asks the right questions the right way, and builds client relationships
- Synthesizes data from partners into recommendations and process maps, spreadsheets, or presentations for a variety of audiences to review/approve recommendations
- Identifies risks and gaps between current and potential future-state of work
- Participates in efforts to ensure compliance with HR processes, data privacy regulations, and best practices
Business Insights
- Collects, compiles, and cleans as necessary HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the HR information systems and payroll outputs
- Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to recruitment, hiring practices, motivation, turnover, and compliance with employment laws and regulations
- Prepares reports of data results, presenting and explaining findings to associated leadership
- Identifies and recommends reasonable short- and long-term goals, milestones, and benchmarks for key performance metrics
- Based on metrics and analysis, makes recommendations for policies and activities to improve HRSS performance and HR outcomes
- May conduct or assist with conducting classification audits to ensure that jobs are properly classified as exempt or nonexempt
- May assist HR leadership with departmental budgets
- May guide and/or assist with performance, benefit, and compensation review and evaluation processes
- Maintains confidentiality and the highest degree of integrity
- Performs other duties as assigned
Project Management
- Builds and utilizes a methodology to plan the analysis of work, and other projects, as necessary
- Ensures timelines are being met by influencing partners for information and data and escalating issues to leadership when necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 3+ years in analytical role working with processes and data
- Expertise with various HRIS applications
- Must have excellent analytical skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Superior written communication skills including telling stories with data, charts, graphs, etc.
- Strong ability to tie data outcomes to practices, processes, and policies and corresponding ability to identify opportunities for improvement
- Project management experience preferred
