Heritage Construction and Materials (HC+M), one of The Heritage Group's core businesses, is a leading supplier and contractor for roads, bridges, and commercial projects across the Midwest. We are looking for a highly motivated, strategic-thinking, and data-driven intern to join our team as a Strategy & Data Analytics Intern. The intern will have a full seat at the table with our executive leadership team to help develop and implement strategic initiatives. The intern will also be responsible for collecting and analyzing data, building forecasts using various algorithms, and generating market insights.

Timeline: Paid Summer Internship: May 13th - August2nd

• Intern pay is non-negotiable and is calculated based on current academic class standing $17/hour (Freshman) - $20/hour (Senior), etc.

Job Responsibilities:

• Gather data through various methods such as consulting with subject matter experts, exporting system data, or web scraping
• Analyze data to identify statistically significant trends and provide insights to support decision-making
• Develop and maintain reports to be used in strategic planning sessions
• Continuously improve existing strategic planning tools by incorporating feedback from stakeholders and identifying areas for optimization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the implementation of new strategic initiatives

Relevant Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of statistical analysis and data visualization tools, such as PowerBI or Tableau
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
• Creative thinker that is open to working collaboratively with a team
• Basic understanding of business financials and NPV analysis

Education/Experience Requirements:

• Current Junior class standing pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field
