Job Summary

Reporting to the Sr. Benefits Manager, HR Services, the Health Benefits Analyst supports HR Shared Services (HRSS) in benefits, payroll, and system processes.Theworkincludesupdating/maintainingtheHR recordkeeping system, performing regular plan audits, reconciling benefit programs, and making recommendations to increase employee utilization of benefit programs. The Health BenefitsAnalyst is responsible for assisting with the daily administration of benefits and backs up the 401k Benefits Analyst.

Essential Job Functions

Audits and Reporting

  • Definesandperformsperiodicauditsofbenefitsenrollmentdatatoensure timeliness and accuracy as it pertains to eligibility and employee election information. Works closely with vendors to reconcile and correct discrepancies
  • Assists with benefit program compliance by following plan rules and completing timely audits
  • Preparesandsendsbenefit reporting,ensuresreportintegrity
  • Performs ACA auditing, deadlines, submissions, and any needed corrections utilizing our vendor Worxtim

Documentation, Reconciliation, and Communication

  • Maintainsandupdatesthebenefitsprocessdocumentation
  • Assists with compilation of data and documentation for compliance-related submissions, such as Summary Plan Descriptions, Credible Coverage filings and other requirements
  • Maintains benefit summary documentation including coverages and costs by program
  • Monitors portal content for all benefit related links/notices. Works with vendors, Marcomm, and co-workers to keep content current
  • Owns Auto Imputed Income communications and calculations
  • Monitors the benefit eligible separated group (Cobra, FEH family, and retiree) activity and any communication needs
  • Owns distribution of annual required notices

Service Delivery

  • Owns FSA, Isolved, medical, dental, and vision administration, including communications needed
  • Provides Tier 2 Support: assists with complex benefit-related issues/questions by partnering with employees, HRBPs and vendors
  • Assists with the annual benefits open enrollment process including CY manual adjustments post OE
  • Communicates in a professional manner with internal and external clients including process changes and how solutions create win-win
  • Ensures timely and accurate company billing is performed

Vendor Management

  • Manages related vendor administration, plan documentation and vendor issues
  • Responsible for timely health & other 5500 submissions working through auditors and vendors
  • Timely and accurately approves, tracks, and monitors (self-billing processes) vendor invoices
  • Maintains medical, Isolved, dental, FSA, and vision vendor relationships, website tasks, and hosts vendor recurring meetings

Maintenance of HR Recording System

  • Assists with HRIS system testing/validation for open enrollment, benefits changes, and merger and acquisition activity
  • Maintains the executive designation and related targeted communications

Process Improvement and Teamwork

  • Proactively identifies issues, problems, or process improvements and recommends potential solutions
  • Supports cyclical HR processes/projects and cross-functional HR initiatives as needed
  • Responsible for own continuous learning including changing laws and regulations. Applies these learnings and communicates process changes needed to manager
  • Learns and performs duties of the 401k Benefit Specialist to be prepared when additional coverage is needed
  • Exhibits behaviors in alignment with HRSS and THG's organizational cultures and values

  • Understands methods, practices, terminology, systems, and procedures used in HR and benefits administration

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in HR) or applicable experience in benefit and compensation plans, leave management, policy and HR cyclical processes for a mid-size organization
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in benefits administration or related field required
  • Extensive knowledge of employee benefits & applicable laws, as well as ability to easily communicate them
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of HRIS systems
  • PHR/SPHR or CEBS certification a plus
