HSE Compliance Specialist
The HSE Compliance Specialist will be a key team member supporting both the Environmental and Health and Safety teams at Asphalt Materials, Inc. This crucial role will assist in the compliance processes. The successful candidate will be well organized, meet deadlines, be an excellent communicator, and possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This position can become larger in scope, a successful candidate will be allowed to tackle bigger challenges. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team!
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance calendars and plant specific action trackers
- Update plans: SPCC, SWPPP, FRP, etc.
- Complete permitting applications and audits (minimal travel required)
- Conduct incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Track and analyze data for near misses, etc.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders
- Support environmental compliance initiatives
- Assist with various projects as assigned
Skills
- Computer and Microsoft skills

- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn and apply regulatory knowledge
- Organizational skills
Required Qualifications
- Relocation to the Indianapolis area required
- Degree preferred: Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or other related degree
- 1-2 years of experience preferred
- Capable of interacting successfully in variety of environments, i.e., office, plant, lab
- Strong interest in environmental and safety
