Job Summary:

The HR and Legal Intern will gain hands-on experience in both human resources and legal functions within our organization. This opportunity provides an inclusive perspective on unique challenges related to policy compliance and employment laws and regulations.


Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Legal Support:
    • Assist the legal team with research, document preparation, and contract review.
    • Attend meetings related to legal matters and take detailed notes.
    • Help maintain legal records and databases.
    • Collaborate with internal and external legal counsel as needed.
    • Gain knowledge on industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Human Resources:
    • Support the HR department with policy review, compliance, reporting, and audit needs related to EEO, Affirmative Action, etc.
    • Assist in drafting and updating company policies and procedures and providing suggestions for language revisions on such policies.
    • Generate resources supporting the company's DEI efforts; inclusive of updating the company's playbook on investigations, conflict resolution, remediation, training, etc.
    • Review of internal and external communications to ensure inclusive language that represents the company's values.
  • Additional Tasks:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects.
    • Additional projects and tasks as assigned on an Ad-hoc basis.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Law, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and eager to learn.

Key Details:

  • This role is a 7-month project-based internship.
  • The role is located in Indianapolis, IN on a hybrid working model (3 days in office, 2 days remote)
