HR Analytics Manager

Job Summary

The HR Analytics Manager is responsible for analyzing HR data (including personnel data, payroll data, health and benefits data, process outputs, survey results, etc.) to give insights for HR and the businesses' decision-making to improve employee experience strategies, health and wellness strategies, talent programs and expense, and other strategic and tactical initiatives.

This role will be the "owner and administrator" of Visier and other HR analytics technology.

This role will also identify and assist in solving HR-related issues and improving HR processes – and will also participate in the prioritization and implementation of suggested changes.


Talent Analytics

  • Collects and analyzes talent data from a variety of sources including the HR information systems, payroll outputs, employee surveys, and benefit providers to identify opportunities or gaps related to employee engagement and health
  • Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns in the employee population
  • Gains insight to external information and trends and relates to organization's data to identify key trends, emerging opportunities, and/or risks as they relate to employee productivity
  • Upon thorough understanding of the business environment, makes recommendations that improve recruiting and hiring practices, employee motivation, and turnover
  • Learns, considers, and advises organization on how HR and business practices comply with employment laws and the regulatory environment
  • Works with HR functional areas and business leaders to design and create reports and analyses to monitor and measure specific aspects of the employee population and to illuminate opportunities in business processes
  • Prepares summary reports for all levels of management, including reports suitable for executives and Board members
  • Partners with HRSS leadership and team members to understand current processes to ensure that analysis are accurate

HR Analytics Technology

  • Leads implementation of analytics platform, Visier, and works with appropriate parties to ensure data accuracy as information flows to it
  • Invests in learning new analysis tools and makes recommendations to ensure THG is using the most effective and capable tools; builds ROI, if necessary
  • Ensures Visier or other analysis tools meet client requirements and oversees modifications
  • Trains partners on analysis tools and sets up feedback mechanisms for ongoing improvement
  • Compiles and oversees new features and capabilities
  • Manages assigned analytics or technology vendors

Internal HR Metrics

  • Manages, creates, upgrades, and maintains departmental ad hoc and scheduled reports
  • Reviews current reporting mechanisms and makes improvements to more effectively measure quality and quantity of work in HR on a day-to-day basis
  • Develops and administers quality control reporting to monitor transactional activity and maintain accuracy for all HR data
  • Provides information and/or manages certain compliance reporting (working with the Regulatory and Compliance Manager)
  • Identifies and recommends reasonable short- and long-term goals, milestones, and benchmarks for key performance metrics
  • Based on metrics and analysis, makes recommendations for policies, activities, process changes, and financial spend to improve HRSS performance and HR outcomes

Other

  • Builds relationships and finds synergies with individuals in analytics roles across THG companies
  • Maintains confidentiality and the highest degree of integrity
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in business, financial, or HR analytics (10+ years)
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Strong business acumen
  • Expertise in building models, reports, dashboards, etc.
  • Superior critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Expertise in Excel and good working knowledge of PowerPoint
  • Superior written communication skills including telling stories with data, charts, graphs, etc.
  • Ability to proactively think what a client will ask and prepare the answer in advance
  • Strong ability to tie data outcomes to practices, processes, and policies and corresponding ability to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Experience working cross-functionally and in multiple entity organizations
  • Experience with various HRIS applications (PeopleSoft, Viewpoint, Workday, Visier)
  • Project management or Lean Six Sigma experience a plus
