Equipment/Shop Maintenance Manager

Milestone Contractors, LP is currently seeking an Equipment/Shop Maintenance Manger to plan and direct the operations and maintenance of equipment and equipment maintenance personnel (mechanics).

Essential Functions:  

• Provides technical direction for day to day maintenance operations
• Coordinates maintenance on equipment fleet
• Manages maintenance parts and supplies purchasing
• Meets deadlines
• Meets departmental and company goals relative to equipment uptime and downtime
• Ensures availability of all personnel to meet maintenance and repair needs and other business demands
• Provides strategic direction for equipment maintenance department
• Assists in preparing annual budget
• Ensures equipment department adheres to planned budget
• Participates in business planning and analyzes data and schedules to forecast equipment and maintenance personnel needs
• Plans, coordinates and schedules preventive maintenance
• Directs emergency repairs
• Forecasts parts and supplies needed for PMs
• Ensures PMs are completed appropriately
• Provides direct supervision for maintenance personnel            
• Plans, directs, assigns and delegates work to mechanics
• Approves timesheets and time off requests
• Develops staff and ensures appropriate training is conducted
• Manages performance of maintenance personnel
• Promotes and maintains a safe work environment
• Exhibits safe work behaviors; ensures all maintenance personnel do the same
• Wears all prescribed PPE

Required Education/Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Management, Automotive Maintenance, related field, or commensurate work or military experience
• 3-5 years' experience in a managerial or supervisory position; 3-5 years' experience in garage/heavy equipment/heavy truck repair and management

This is an exempt, management position with a "home base" in Indianapolis.  The position supervises garages and garage personnel throughout the state, so some state-wide travel is required.  Additionally, during the height of the construction season, extended work hours are often required to meet the demands of the business, including early mornings, nights and weekends.
