We have an opening for an Equipment Services Manager in our equipment group. This is a critical managerial role that provides strategic direction for the equipment services and repair of the company's fleet of vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Provides strategic direction for equipment services and repair
- Develops best practices, policies, and procedures for fleet maintenance and repair
- Develops, implements, and oversees department budget
- Collaborates with operations leadership to ensure equipment maintenance and repair needs are met
- Monitors KPI's and ensures performance targets are met
- Meets departmental and company goals relative to equipment uptime and downtime and preventive maintenance
- Ensures collaboration and communication across Milestone shops to facilitate resource sharing
- Develops strategic relationships for goods and services
- Collaborates with local areas to identify local providers of parts and services
- Leverages economies of scale for purchasing and services, including SCPC
- Understands and meets compliance obligations
- Understands DOT, FMCSA and other applicable regulatory record keeping and compliance requirements
- Ensures compliance obligations are met
- Maintains accurate records
- Provides direct supervision for Shop Managers
- Ensures Shop Managers have resources required to perform at highest level
- Develops direct reports through continuous coaching and constructive feedback
- Ensures appropriate training is conducted
- Cultivates a safe work environment
- Exhibits safe work behaviors; ensures all maintenance personnel do the same
- Responsible for safety record of shops and maintenance personnel
- Wears all prescribed PPE
- Creates environment of high trust
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Business, Construction, Supply Chain, Organizational Mgmt) or equivalent work and/or military experience
- 3-5 years previous experience in a related managerial position (or equivalent experience in an individual contributor role) with experience in fleet management, equipment services or heavy equipment repair
Preferred Education and Experience
- Advanced training or experience in heavy equipment repair or maintenance
- Working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and other federal, state, and local regulatory transportation related compliance
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills

- Excellent relationship building skills
- Knowledge of vehicle, truck, and heavy equipment repair
- Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to maintain service record database and track inventory
- Demonstrated knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental compliance regulations
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
