Equipment Operator/Laborer

An Equipment Operator will be a part of a team supporting a group of six aggregate plants with the primary location being Linn Grove & Pleasant Mills. The role will have responsibility for maintaining production, maintenance, quality, and safety within the Aggregates' Operations function.

DUTIES

Operate service and maintain heavy equipment including, front-end loaders, off road dump trucks, skid steer, man-lift, fuel truck and water truck.

oResponsible for fueling, oiling, greasing, and safety book understanding

oPerform pre-shift and end of shift checks and maintenance on equipment.

Ensure that proper safety/incident procedures and reporting processes are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the Manager, Safety Director or HR.

Ensure completion of work permits, work plans, safety checks and maintenance reports.

Perform needed hot work, including welding and cutting.

Perform plant maintenance and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in mining industry with some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in mining.

Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 75 lb.), pull or carry objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.

Must be able to handle all elements of the weather.

Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to communicate orally and in writing.

Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.

Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

Must have Valid Driver's License.

Must pass pre-employment drug screening and pre-employment physical assessment.
