Equipment Analyst- Griffith

Position Title: Equipment Analyst

Department: Equipment

Reports To: VP Equipment


Position Summary:

Analyze equipment usage and validate reported information to ensure utilizations, cost and maintenance reports are correct; forecasts needs, shortages and costs.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains field equipment database
    • Assigns asset and equipment numbers
    • Enters new equipment information into tracking database
    • Maintains field and job truck assignments
  • Manages transportation programs
    • Manages Motus Program, vehicle licensing registration
    • Manages fuel cards, fuel program gauge, and Smart Hub
    • Manages Heavy Job, equipment posting, and idle time
    • Manages weekly equipment process
    • Reviews equipment locate report for accuracy
  • Generates reports and performs data analysis
    • Ensures equipment management reports and locate reports are timely and accurate
    • Uses Google suite, crystal reports, and statistical analysis to report on utilization, maintenance cost, preventive maintenance and replacement/acquisition cost data; delivers reports to management and senior leadership
    • Performs special projects within the department
  • Communicates with internal/external customers.
    • Works closely with other equipment analysts in the department
    • Professionally administer all incoming calls and redirect appropriately
    • Develops effective relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other work groups
    • Provides highest levels of quality and service
  • Promotes and maintains personal safety.
    • Exhibits safe work behaviors
    • Wears all prescribed PPE.

Work Environment The work environment described here is representative of those that experienced by an employee performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Clerical office environment in or around transportation hub/garage
  • Indoor conditions that include standard office equipment such as computers, photocopier, phone, filing cabinets, fax machines, cubicles
  • Some exposure to highway construction job sites, which includes exposure to inclement weather, moving traffic, noise, fumes, mechanical and heavy equipment
  • Exposure to garage and equipment yard, including job trucks, lowboys, and heavy highway equipment

Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Sits at a desk for hours at a time
  • Looks at a computer screen hours at a time
  • Performs data entry, alpha and 10-key numeric, on a keyboard or tablet
  • Uses copy/fax to scan documents
  • Sits in motor vehicle and drives regularly

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, normally 40 hours per week. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, during normal business hours, but shift and weekend work may be required.

Travel Travel is not expected; some local job site travel may occur.

Required Education and Experience

  • Associate's Degree in business, finance or accounting, or commensurate work or military experience
  • 1-3 years' experience in a finance or accounting position

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, business, accounting or related field

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Must adhere to drug free workplace requirements, including random testing requirements
  • If required to drive a company vehicle, must have or be able to obtain valid, state driver's license and meet company driver requirements

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable) Must be authorized to work in the United States, as verified through E-Verify. Some job sites may require additional criminal background testing.
