Job Summary

Picture yourself as the Director of People Insights at THG where your curiosity, creativity, and love for analysis help us build an employee information platform that informs decisions in Human Resources and in our businesses. In this role, you will blaze new trails in fertile, but uncharted territory. You will have extensive influence over how HR data (including personnel, job, payroll, and health and benefits data) is collected, changed, stored, reported, integrated, and used. You will also have the opportunity to evaluate and select business analytic solutions and define how they will work in concert with current and future state HR systems. Further, you will assess, evolve, and define the library of HR reports. Most importantly, you will define the strategic plan to get to a world-class people analytics offering for THG and its companies. Your expertise, knowledge, and inventiveness will be critical to building a function that enables our companies through diligence with data, complex analysis, creative solutions, and fact-based recommendations.

In order to move your strategic plan forward, you will enjoy a partnership with other leaders in HRSS to solve HR-related issues, improve HR processes, and work to prioritize and implement suggested changes.

Finally, you will stay connected to the work by being a player-coach that contributes to the output of the function.

Essential Functions:

Building the People Insights Function

  • Assesses current HR data, reporting, and analytics environment
  • Interviews stakeholders to understand business needs for short and long-term reporting and analytics
  • Working with appropriate HR and business partners, builds and evolves THG's HR analytics strategy and offerings; develops priorities and timeline to level set stakeholder expectations
  • Determines skills and resources needed to meet current and future state goals
  • Researches and selects business insights tools to optimize functional offerings, including on-demand solutions for businesses and HR
  • Defines and implements data governance methodology
  • Identifies process and procedure changes necessary to get to data integrity
  • Oversees data cleanup efforts and instills a culture of data integrity
  • Plays a role in the requirements building and selection of a future state core HR system
  • Sets an example for and inspires a culture of data-driven decision making
  • Serves as a thought and strategy partner to business and HR leaders in efforts to optimize, innovate, and drive substantive changes in workforce/people strategies, programs, processes, and operations

Providing HR Reporting and Analytics

  • Manages the review and evaluation processes of HRSS performance and THG benefit programs
  • Manages and develops current HR Analyst to deliver regular, accurate, meaningful HR reports
  • Works with HRSS partners to build performance and customer service reports, such as timely separations, compliant hiring, case closure rates, etc.
  • Evolves function to provide standard, but absent, HR reporting, such as turnover, retention, time to fill, etc.
  • Scopes and manages business requests for analytics, reports, and advisory support
  • Synthesizes and translates complex data and myriad inputs – including knowledge of business context and leader concerns – into recommendations for solutions
  • Builds infrastructure supporting effective execution and with an eye to future needs
  • Is a player-coach; delivers work product where expertise, capacity, and priority require

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience in financial and/or HR data analysis
  • Experience developing and overseeing roadmap strategy and definition
  • Strong business acumen
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Highly skilled in SQL with a thorough understanding of data and systems' infrastructures
  • Expertise in Excel and good working knowledge of PowerPoint
  • Expertise in building models, reports, dashboards, etc.
  • Superior written communication skills including telling stories with data, charts, graphs, etc.
  • Ability to proactively think what a client will ask and prepare the answer in advance
  • Strong ability to tie data outcomes to practices, processes, and policies and corresponding ability to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Experience working cross-functionally and in multiple entity organizations
  • Experience with various HRIS applications (PeopleSoft, Viewpoint, Workday)
  • Project management or Lean Six Sigma experience a plus
