Data Analyst

Position: Data Analyst

The Data Analyst role will support Heritage Construction Materials (a portfolio of road construction and materials businesses that is part of The Heritage Group) by collecting, organizing, analyzing and interpreting information to improve business efficiency and performance.

 Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain data systems such as databases, data-marts and data warehouses
• Partner with appropriate business contacts to acquire needed data and develop repeatable and automated methods to continually acquire needed data
• Filter and "clean" data, and review computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
• Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality
• Create dashboards, scorecards and reports to support effective management of the business operations
• Conduct research and analyses to formulate conclusions and recommendations for business problems
• Present findings to key internal business stakeholders, including C-Level executives, for validation, buy-in and approval; modify as required and deliver final product
• Consistently provide input on how to improve internal efficiencies; grow knowledge and be aware of best practices and market trends
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution as appropriate

Skills

• Knowledge of Power BI or related system experience
• Strong Excel and information database experience
• Ability to work in changing and ambiguous situations
• Demonstrate the ability to tie data trends to business implications
• Can effectively present data in a way that speaks to the target audience
• Strong attention to detail

Experience

• Degree with a quantitative focus such as; Information Systems Management, Data Management, Business Intelligence, Statistics or related degree
• 1-3 years+ experience in a data analytics role preferred
