Corporate Controller

Job Summary:

 

The Corporate Controller will report to Director of Finance, Corporate Shared Services of The Heritage Group (THG) and will be responsible for the corporate accounting function and serve as a resource to our operating companies for new accounting guidance. This position will manage a growing corporate accounting team, partner with one of our operating companies to separate the corporate and operating accounting responsibilities, assist in coordinating our audits, and oversee other corporate responsibilities. This position will directly partner and support our research and development team's reporting needs.

The qualified candidate is an experienced Controller for a privately owned enterprise with demonstrated success in the following areas:

  • Coordinating the preparation of detailed annual financial budgets, monthly financials, and forecasts
  • Evaluating and analyzing financial information to identify trends and recommend required actions
  • Partnering with various stakeholders to establish, implement, and support accounting requirements
  • Managing multiple commitments including special projects, analysis requests, and reporting requests
  • Preparing high quality, professional, and accurate presentations for management and stakeholders on a timely basis
  • Communicating with management and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
  • Focusing on improvement of processes and procedures

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent work experience.
  • 7-12 years of relevant experience in accounting and or finance
  • 3 years of Controller experience
  • Excellent organizational, time management skills and multi-tasking ability
  • Public Accounting experience is a plus
  • Certified Public Accountant is a plus
  • Great Plains experience is a plus

 

This is a demanding role in our organization that requires agility, focus, and a hands-on approach to getting the job done. The successful candidate can get it done without sacrificing quality while providing the leadership and direction needed for the corporate accounting team.
