Concrete Plant Electrician
The Concrete Plant Electrician maintains concrete plant controls and electrical systems.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains concrete plant electrical and electronic operations
- Installs and maintains appropriate controls software
- Installs and maintains electrical lines
- Diagnoses, troubleshoots and corrects electrical or controls problems
- Completes all required paperwork
- Performs maintenance and preventive maintenance on electrical and electronic systems
- Perform other routine maintenance at concrete plants
- Communicates effectively
- Advises manager of problems, potential problems, or schedule difficulties
- Collaborates with dispatch, operations and equipment
- Facilitates collaboration among plant personnel
- Promotes and maintains safe work environment.
- Exhibits safe work behaviors; evaluates work area for hazards; eliminates or controls hazards
- Wears all prescribed PPE
- Participates in daily safety huddles and safety training; follows safe work plans
- Reads and understands hazard signs, training materials, work plans, instruction manuals
Required Education and Experience
- Associate's degree, technical certificate or journeyman's card in electrical, electronic technology or related field
- 1-3 years' experience working in electrical or controls technician position

Work Environment The work environment described here is representative of those that experienced by an employee performing the essential functions of this job.
- Some exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at concrete plants construction job sites, including heights, moving equipment, moving vehicles
- Outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, precipitation, heat, humidity, dust, concrete, dirt
- Indoor office conditions that include regular exposure to office equipment, such as computers, copiers, mail machines, telephones, electrical wires and other telecommunication equipment
Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Lifts, pushes, pulls, pours or carries heavy objects, loads of material, telecommunication and electrical items
- Walks and stands for long periods of time
- Bends, stoops, squats, reaches to move materials and electronic equipment
- Climbs in, out and under equipment; lays or stands under equipment
- Uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue;
- Uses good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination, with the ability to quickly move arms and legs.
- Possess excellent stamina to work between 8-12 hours per day
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Work schedule is normally Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day. During peak construction season, extended, overtime, night, shift and/or weekend work may be required.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Must adhere to drug free workplace and union substance abuse testing requirements
- If required to drive a company vehicle, must have or be able to obtain valid, state driver's license and meet company driver requirements
