Responsibilities
- Partner with Business Unit President to drive financial performance (both income statement and balance sheet) of the business unit
- Determine financial status by comparing and analyzing results and variances; identifying trends and recommending actions
- Work cross-functionally across the business unit to accomplish tasks and drive performance by providing data and insights to process owners while also holding team members accountable for performance
- Partner with the shared services accounting organization to consolidate and analyze financial data to complete accurate, timely and consistent monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
- Lead process to prepare detailed annual financial budgets and monthly financial forecasts
- Develop detailed financial models for potential transactions, including but not limited to M&A, capital expenditures, and plant expansions
- Prepare high quality, professional, and accurate presentations and memorandums for management and board of directors on a timely basis
- Provide financial, analytical, and strategic support on special projects, ad-hoc, and long-term business needs
- Increase productivity by developing automated applications, eliminating duplications and coordinating information requirements
- Advocate for your business unit with respect to shared services and the broader HC&M and THG finance community
- Follow policies and procedures and develop/recommend improvements/enhancements to financial policies and procedures
- Complete tasks correctly and on time with high attention to detail
- Develop and maintain a broad understanding of the company's offerings and plays an important role in making recommendations on courses of action to the management team; utilizes strong communication skills to lead meetings or be a part of special project teams
Qualifications/ Requirements
- Five years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis or corporate accounting
- A bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, or equivalent practical experience (top 20 business school preferred)
- Exceptional proficiency in Excel: discounted cash flow modeling, scenario analysis, and statistical analysis
- Demonstrated work experience: financial statement analysis, modeling, and reporting; critical thinking, and executive presentations
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to collaborate effectively using a broad range of influence styles to drive desired results
- Impeccable written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey various forms of information to a broad audience
- A high degree of self-confidence, poise, maturity, discretion, and diplomacy
- Self-motivated and passionate with a drive for success enthusiastic about delivering high-quality work and making a difference in your function, our company, and our industry
- Ability to work with and act in utmost confidentiality with sensitive company information
- Have a strong ownership mentality and drive for results
- Sound problem solver who can quickly process complex information and present it clearly and simply
- Strong knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
