Benefits Communication Manager

The successful candidate in this newly created role on the HR Operations team will be responsible for the development and implementation of our The Heritage Group (THG) benefits and total rewards communication. This role will develop and own a communication strategy designed to educate, inform, and move employees to action on topics related to benefits, total rewards, and Human Resources.  The role will own content and design, as well as manage our employee-facing communication vehicles, online sites.  Over time, he/she will also develop and institute strategies that encourage self-service.  Success will be measured by to-be-determined employee behavioral changes. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Partner with the HR Manager, Enterprise Benefits and VP, Benefit Programs to develop the enterprise benefits multi-year communication strategy
  • Execute communications strategies and lead communications initiatives
  • Use the to-be-defined employee experience strategy as an input to messaging for the propagation of THG culture
  • Create and distribute benefits, wellness, and total rewards materials that are easily digestible by a diverse employee population across several THG companies nationwide. The materials will address multiple generations and varying levels of technical and reading literacy
  • Own and drive creative workflow process from project initiation, execution, approvals, production, proofing, tracking, and archiving
  • Establish relationships with leaders across business and corporate HR to help drive benefits, wellness, and HRSS initiatives throughout the organization
  • Identify and generate feedback mechanisms
  • Manage the end-user experience related to HR employee self-service, online portals, vendor interactions, etc. to increase digital adoption; own the benefits/total rewards portal, including content development
  • Establish processes and tools to track various HR messages and changes in employee behavior across the organizations
  • Develop dashboards to measure communication effectiveness and employee behavior to ultimately increase employee engagement
  • Advance our capabilities in manager communication to reach this critical audience and convert them into on-site communicators
  • Offer ideas, best practices, and leadership within the benefits, HRSS, and HR teams
  • Manage multiple projects, timelines, and deliverables simultaneously, including vendor involvement
  • Partner with corporate communications and marketing to ensure alignment as this role will also influence the HR communication strategy and plan

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Human Resources, similar field, or relevant experience
  • Experience managing multiple "call to action" messages simultaneously
  • Project management experience and ability to lead and manage a project with both short and long-term goals
  • 5+ years of internal communications experience  
  • Superior verbal, written, and communication skills and incredible attention to detail
  • Proficient in desktop publishing and design software: Adobe PageMaker, InDesign, Publisher

Relevant Skills:

  • Human Resources communication experience
  • Knowledge of benefits and 401(k) plans
