Asphalt Distributor Operator- Truck Driver

Job Description We are looking for an asphalt distributor truck driver / operator to spray asphalt products in Chicagoland and northern Illinois. We have 3 locations - Morris, IL, North Aurora, IL, and Elk Grove Village, IL.

Responsibilities:

• Operates a heavy-duty diesel truck equipped with an asphalt tank and spray bar to deliver asphalt and emulsion to customers
• Must work with company dispatcher to receive daily project assignments.
• Must operate truck instruments to distribute tank load on road or other appropriate surfaces as directed by customer order.
• Consistently regulate flow of material and make necessary adjustments for road surface;
• Monitor flow gauges, tachometer and temperature gauge to ensure uniform distribution;
• Driver must maintain clean, proper and good working order the truck, tanker and other equipment.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to both external and internal customers;

Qualifications:

• Candidates with truck driving, construction, asphalt or farm experience running farm, spraying, or heavy equipment are preferred but not required.
• Must have Class A or B CDL with tanker endorsement. Will be required to join teamsters union; all resumes will be held in strict confidence.
• Requires walking, bending, squatting, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree.
• Requires climbing in and out of distributor truck multiple times a day.
• Flexibility and the ability to operate under stressful, time-sensitive deadlines
• Capable and willing to work 12+ hour shift during day/night/weekend hours to meet business demands
• 3-5 years' experience in a position driving asphalt distributor trucks.
• Applicant must be a team player, excellent attendance, self-starter, organized, and mechanically inclined.
