Responsible for establishing and coordinating the company's maintenance management operating system and processes to achieve overall company objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • This position is responsible for establishing the company maintenance management operating system, procedures and goals.  Including:
    • Preventative Maintenance
    • Predictive Maintenance
    • Spare Parts
    • Back log management / scheduling
    • Developing standard procedures and practices
    • Developing people
    • Forecasting end of life for replacement
    • Outage planning
    • Root Cause Analysis
    • Developing best practice startup and shut down practices
    • Equipment History
    • Equipment Files
    • Knowledge sharing / best practices
  • Need to have a thorough understanding of processing equipment maintenance requirements and needs.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Team to achieve plant performance objectives.
  • Create processes and train employees to ensures proper fiscal planning, performance and forecasting for the maintenance of the equipment.
  • Establish processes and procedures to deliver effective and efficient equipment maintenance management.
  • Optimize contractor performance, work with mechanical and electrical contractors to reduce downtime and cost while ensuring quality workmanship.
  • Collaborate with the engineering department to ensure capital dollars are invested wisely.
  • Assures that safety programs are developed and fully implemented for the maintenance processes.
  • Assures proper indoctrination, coaching, training, development is being provided to employees performing maintenance tasks.

Other Requirements:

  • Extensive technical knowledge of processing facilities and equipment.
  • Knowledge of principles, concepts, theories and practices for maintenance /manufacturing/production.
  • Experience as a Maintenance Manager in the process manufacturing industry (Chemical, Refining, Paint production, bulk food production, Blending etc..) .
  • Knowledge and experience working within a Maintenance Management Operating System and able to develop and deploy a unique solution for the business maintenance needs:
    • Simple and effective
    • Tailored to meet the needs of a seasonal business
    • Leveraging the skills and people at very small remote sites.
  • Must be able to develop and then implement innovative and effective management processes to maximize plant performance
  • Must be able to lead and communicate effectively with a remote workforce.
  • Must be able to work and manage multiple-sites and multiple projects at one time
  • Must be proficient at financial reporting and forecasting.
  • Must be willing and able to spend time in the field on location when required.
  • Frequent travel, with overnight and multiple night stay.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
  • Must be able to deal with high levels of stress and/or stressful situations to respond to urgent situations.
  • Must be able to influence from a distance.
  • Strong work ethics of integrity and honesty striving for excellence in all activities.
