The lab technician is responsible for utilizing accepted methods to sampling and testing of asphalt, emulsion and other materials with the purpose of evaluating quality and process control and/or acceptance.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
• Monitor and test process functions & materials dally to ensure our products meet or exceed requirements of the appropriate 
   agency or customer.
• Prepare and record accurate Information and forward to personnel in a timely manner.
• Follow quality control plans or guidelines as assigned.
• Evaluate data for deviations or trends away from accepted standards.
• Obtain State DOT or other required certifications in a timely manner.
• Assist Internal and external customers in any quality related matters.
• Sample appropriate materials, test the materials, and keep record of such for the state and other regulatory agencies.
• Conduct a monthly Inventory on all products, chemicals, and other materials on site.
• Communicate with plant leadership and HRG on any product quality Issues, trends or observations that Impact quality,
   operations and customers.
• Maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.

Requirements:
• High School Diploma: Associates or Bachelor's degree in chemistry, or related discipline preferred.
• 1-5 years' experience in material lab testing role.
• Possess outstanding organizational skills.
• Impeccable communication skills with both Internal and external stakeholders.
• The ability to build strong Interpersonal relationships and partner across multiple levels in an organization.
• Self-starter that can take the Initiative and complete assignments in a self-directed manner.
• The ability to manage multiple projects of varying scope and size and with competing deadlines.
• Strong Interest In chemist and manufacturing operations. An Inquisitive mind coupled with a hands-on, humble and personable
   approach.
• Capable of interacting successfully in variety of environments, I.e. office, plant, lab.
• High degree of self-confidence, poise, maturity, discretion, and diplomacy.
• Sound problem solver who can quickly process complex Information and present it clearly and simply.
• Knowledgeable of API standards, GPA, EPA and ASTM methods considered a plus.
• Experience In pilot batching and scale ups.
• Basic knowledge of lab testing methods.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
