Job Summary:

The AV technician acts as a technical resource for the operation, set up and troubleshooting of audio and video equipment (AV) at The Center.  This position, reporting to the Service Desk Manager, will assist users in meeting rooms with connectivity and presentation needs and manage the use of various sound and video equipment. The technician will review all meeting room usage daily and provide support where needed to users.

 

The technician will report any higher-level issues to the ITSS Service Desk team for further troubleshooting and assistance as needed.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Daily check of all rooms and designated equipment.
  • Minor troubleshooting of hardware issues such as connectivity and display issues.
  • Notifies the ITSS Service Desk of IT related hardware and software issues.
  • Setup and operation of AV equipment.
  • Onsite meeting support as needed, including evenings and weekends.
  • Monitoring of AV equipment during presentations.
  • Performs routine maintenance of AV equipment.
  • Setup and tear-down of meeting space equipment as needed.
  • Flexible hours to align with key meetings that require support.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Relevant Skills:

 

  • Knowledge of Extron/Crestron based room management equipment
  • Knowledge of Soundcraft SI Expression mixer board preferred
  • Knowledge of Shure microphones
  • Knowledge of Video Conferencing based equipment, including LifeSize platform
  • Limited ability to troubleshoot PC/Mac/mobile device related issues related to presentations
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

 

Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree
  • Strong working knowledge of common AV equipment, PC's, Mac's and mobile devices
  • Basic familiarity with technical infrastructure components, terminology and technology trends
  • Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
  • 1 to 3+ years of experience in AV support
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships, and able to work effectively across many levels of organizations
