Job Summary:

The Heritage Group (THG) is a family-owned business that over the past 80+ years has built a diverse set of prominent, growth-oriented private and public companies. As a key thought leader and resource for THG, the Strategy and M&A (S+M&A) team is charged with portfolio oversight, including strategy development and add-on acquisitions, as well as new platform investments.


The Marketing and Network Coordinator will help lead S+M&A's network hub, which is the centerpiece of our sourcing efforts. Specifically, for new sector strategies that are developed by our research hub, the Marketing and Network Coordinator will coordinate direct outreach to the owners of those businesses. In addition, this individual will be responsible for identifying executives with expertise relevant to our sector strategies, and then determine their ability and availability to help source opportunities, support diligence efforts and/or serve in a Board or management capacity. Further, the Marketing and Network Coordinator will be tasked with helping maximize the effectiveness of marketing trips and conferences attended by S+M&A team members. Finally, he or she will be tasked with identifying tools that increase the visibility of THG's network and processes for harnessing this information to drive networking activity.



  • Proactively operationalize and continuously develop THG's network of relationships for the benefit of deal flow and driving value at our portfolio companies
    • Within S+M&A sector strategies: direct outreach to target platforms (focus on family- and entrepreneur-owned), executives, consultants, trade association leaders, intermediaries and other relevant participants in ecosystems
    • For S+M&A more broadly: family business owners, family investment groups and family business advisors (lawyers, accounting/tax professionals, wealth management, etc.)
    • (over time) For THG companies: support in both target add-ons (focus on family- and entrepreneur-owned) along with increased engagement with current or prospective customers, supplier or JV/partnership relationships
  • Identify tools and develop processes that increase visibility of THG's existing network -- who knows who and who should know whom
    • Ensure appropriate cadence for senior executives to meet and discuss their network of relationships
    • Curate data capture into CRM databases to aid in relationship management efforts and relationship mapping activities
  • Systematically initiate and organize various activities that deepen THG's network
    • Business and social events particularly those held at The Center
    • Speaking engagements
    • Thought leadership pieces
  • Continuously refine strategy for augmenting and strengthening the THG network

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Development or related field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of work experience in similar role.
  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Word, and
