Job Summary:

The Talent Specialist will be integral in building external talent pipelines for The Heritage Group businesses and supporting the growth and development of our internal talent bench.  The ideal candidate will have strong relationship building skills in addition to previous experience in talent acquisition and/or talent management processes.  The ideal candidate would also have the potential to grow their scope and responsibilities to support the many talent development efforts occurring at THG including, leading training and development programs as well as supporting the operating businesses' talent/HR efforts.  The position will report to the Director of Talent Development. 



  • Lead strategy for university recruiting, partnering with each business unit and group to consolidate efforts
  • Develop lasting relationships with target universities, secondary and vocational schools, associations, and groups to help build strong external talent pipelines
  • Plan, execute and attend recruiting events, information sessions, career fairs and interview days
  • Partner with THG businesses to develop and execute on building a pipeline for our hourly roles (primarily in the construction and materials industries)
  • Build and maintain a candidate pipeline of top talent available for upcoming roles
  • Determine communication channels to better inform employees of current openings and help to facilitate internal talent movement
  • Assist businesses with recruiting and hiring as appropriate (particularly niche or hard to fill roles)
  • Create a process to capture employee referrals
  • Support business units with their internship/co-op efforts across all THG businesses
  • Lead summer intern activities to enhance the interns' experience
  • Oversee the company's scholarship program process, ensuring communications are created and distributed
  • Encourage collaborative efforts and establish best practices in sourcing, recruiting, hiring and onboarding processes and resources across THG businesses
  • Assist with improvements to the onboarding/immersion processes and programs for THG employees
  • Support THG talent development efforts where appropriate

  • Bachelor's degree required (with a preference for a graduate degree) in Human Resources or a related field
  • 1-3 years of recruiting or talent management experience preferred
  • Experience in the energy, chemical, construction or manufacturing environment considered a plus
